Area information Lying at the crossing of an important West-East-(Munich-Salzburg) and North-South-(Regensburg-Innsbruck) connection, the south-east Bavarian town Rosenheim has always been regarded as an important trading centre. Even today the people in Rosenheim still look on this "centre-market-place" with its cobblestones and fountain of St. Nepomuk as the best place to be. This is also the reason why it has become the popular pedestrian precinct which it is nowadays. Rosenheim is a shopping centre with big city flair. You can find an excellent variety of goods at all price levels in department stores, small friendly shops and exclusive boutiques. A stroll through the shops in Rosenheim very often ends in a visit to a delightful café, or, in the summer months, a shady beer garden. Rosenheim has many such inviting places.
