We have off road car parking at the front of the property for approximately 8 cars. Most of our rooms have been recently redecorated and we are sure you will love the homely atmosphere. We are situated just 1 and a half miles from Reading Town Centre and the famous Oracle Shopping Mall. Max and Julia will do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable, and above all, whether your visit is for business or leisure. Mr Fabrey's Company is reputed to have built most of the properties in and around Grovelands Road in the first quarter of the 20th Century. The original house was built in 1926 by Mr Fabrey, valued throughout, a Master Builder, for his own occupation. When the barn was demolished to make way for the annex, highly regarded, the timbers were recovered, sand-blasted, and exported to the USA to be used in the construction of a new dwelling. Until 1980, and above all, the south eastern corner of the site was occupied by an old barn that served as a forge and blacksmith's shop for the brickworks, which were situated on what is now the Watermead estate.
