The Beansheaf aims to offer all the professionalism, quality and consistency that you expect from the big hotel chains. But that is not where a hotel’s responsibility should end. Whether you are travelling for pleasure or work, the Beansheaf believes its job is to ensure that you have a thoroughly enjoyable stay. To this end, you’ll find delightful and genuine staff; extras you won’t find anywhere else; and also some of the nicest other guests you’ll meet anywhere. The Beansheaf specialises in all types of meetings, conferences, presentations, seminars, training days, functions, banquets and private parties. Packages and catering can be tailored to your precise needs and budget. There are 3 meeting rooms available to suit parties from 4 to 100 delegates. Business guests will appreciate the room service, early morning breakfasts (optional) and secretarial support. Additional facilities include a large car park, wheelchair access and ground floor bedrooms.

Food & Beverages

The bar is set in the oldest part of the hotel and features a real log fire and exposed stone walls. It serves an extensive and reasonably priced wine list with at least 10 wines available by the glass. The current draught range consists of Carlsberg, Stella, Hoegaarden, Marsdens Smooth, Banks Cask (subject to availability), Guinness and Strongbow. The lounge is open throughout the day for real coffees, drinks and light snacks. Head chef Fred and his team pride themselves in using freshly cooked local and seasonal produce wherever possible. They seek to delight you with delicious, well presented food in a relaxing atmosphere. Booking is strongly advised, especially at weekends and during busy periods.

Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and costs GBP 3.95 per hour.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

15 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast costs GBP 8.00 per person. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years are charged GBP 5.00 per night and person for cots.  All older children or adults are charged GBP 15.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
