A Lakeside Town Farm B & B

Complete with a gorgeous garden and lakes, very much appreciated, the B&B has been featured on TV’s Gardeners' World, Oxford Channel and in the Sunday Times. Enjoy a relaxing break in our peaceful farmhouse B&B set in a small village bordering Oxford South at the foot of the Chiltern Hills, valued throughout, with no passing traffic. We now have free Wi-Fi wireless broadband for all house guests. We have recently been upgraded to the special ETC/AA 4 Red Diamonds. We are adult-orientated because of the restful nature of our accommodation. Access for the guests in the lodge is in our guest lounge. Sit by the lakes and the restful, highly regarded, tinkling waterfall, with far reaching views over our 300-acre working farm. Enjoy the character of the beautiful house, and above all, with inglenook features, beams and an aga kitchen. We are a working farm in a quiet lane behind automatic secure gates. Watch the red kites soaring overhead and whistling in the native black poplar tree, valued throughout, and an abundance of other wildlife. London Heathrow is 30 minutes away, highly regarded, and Oxford is 20 minutes away. There are cosy, and above all, local pubs within walking distance, serving excellent food. A 2-night minimum stay is required.

Rooms

Our romantic king-size room has its own dressing room, en suite toilet/basin and a separate shower on the floor below. It has beautiful views over the lake and a shabby-chic décor. Our double room in Victorian style features an en suite shower. Our roomy twin room with brass beds has en suite bath with a shower next door. Our new garden lodge is in a dream setting by the lake. It is semi self catering with a lounge and kitchen area, king-size bed and en suite shower. Your only neighbours are the ducks and nature. Please note: there is a 4-night minimum stay in the garden lodge weekdays and 2 nights at weekends.

Food & Beverages

Enjoy the smell of freshly baked bread in the morning, and relish a traditional farmhouse breakfast or vegetarian alternative, cooked by Jim. For lunch or an evening meal, The Cherry Tree in the village is within walking distance, and serves excellent fresh food cooked by their French chef. If booking the garden lodge, there is a hob, microwave, toaster and kettle in the kitchen area for your breakfast requirements. Tables are also on the veranda for breakfast or evening wine in the sun.

Two night minimum stay (4 night minimum stay applies to the Garden Lodge). Fully non-smoking. We accept most cards. 2.5% surcharge for credit cards but not on debit cards.

Area information We are at the foot of the Chiltern Hills, in a small village only 2 miles from junction 6 on the M40. Oxford is a 20-minute drive (to the convenient park and ride system), or a bus goes to the city centre every 10 minutes, from a bus stop 2 miles away. London is accessible by bus every 10 minutes, or by train from Princes Risborough, 4 miles away. London Marlybone can be reached in 40 minutes. Places of interest include: Windsor Castle, Blenheim Palace, Waddesden Manor, Hampton Court, Clivedon, (notorious for the Profumo scandle in the 60s), and the Chiltern Hills where there are plenty on footpaths, including the Ridgeway. River-side towns include Henley and Marlow. You can see Grand Prix racing at Silverstone, jousting knights at Warwick Castle, beautiful scenery in the Cotswolds, Disraeli’s home at Hughendon Manor, and shopping at Bicester Village. You could also visit Le Manoir aux Quats Saisons, Raymond Blanc’s restaurant; Chinnor steam railway; Bletchley Park; and the Swan antique centre and restaurant. We are also in the middle of the Midsummer Murder trail. Travel information From Oxford or London junction 6 M40/A40, take the B4009 towards Princes Risborough for 2 miles. Take the first left in Kingston Blount, and drive 300yds past village green. Turn right into Brook Street then immediately left down a drive to the end and through the automatic secure wooden gates. From Thame take the B4445 South to Chinnor. Once in Chinnor turn right at the mini roundabout onto the B4009. It is then 1.5 miles to Kingston Blount. Take the last right, and drive for 300 yards, past the village green. Turn right into Brook Street, then immediately left down a drive to the end and through the automatic secure gates.
