Area information Oviedo has undergone a total transformation and is now one of the main conference centres in Asturias. It is also a city of incomparable beauty and a starting place for excursions to the most out-of-the-way places in what is a true natural paradise. Among the impressive wealth of monuments to visit are the churches Santa María del Naranco, San Miguel de Lillo and San Julián de los Prados, which have ben declared World Heritage sites.
