Area information We highly recommend an excursion to the Brocken, the highest mountain in the Harz / Mid Germany, surrounded by a national park. You can either take the monorail called the Brockenbahn or climb your way up to the mountain top. Once there you have the choice of numerous restaurants to take an energetic meal. Also very interesting excursion trips can be made to the mountainous city of Clausthal-Zellerfeld, to the health resort of Altenau and the charming city of Goslar.
