From Leicester take the a47 east, take the a6003 to Oakham then follow the a606 to Whitwell. From Peterborough and Huntingdon follow the a1 north and take the a606 (signposted Rutland Water) to Whitwell. The nearest mainline rail station is Peterborough, twenty-five minutes by taxi from Whitwell. There is a local station at Oakham, ten minutes away by taxi.
