Area information Nuoro is the literary capital of Sardinia. It is the home town of Grazia Deledda, the only Italian woman ever to win the Nobel price. The house where she was born today houses a museum, and her tomb is located in the Solitudine church, often mentioned in her books. Also, the most important poet of the island was born here, Sebastiano Satta, as well as the important novelist and jurist Salvatore Satta. Nuoro is also home to the famous sculptor Francesco Ciusa, exponent of the expressionist Barbagia wave. Regional traditions and lifestyles are well represented in the Ethnographical Museum, hosting one of the most impressive collections of traditional costumes, still used today in occasion of the Sagra del Redentore - one of the island's most important traditional fairs. You can also enjoy the MAN Museo d'arte Nuorese, the Museo Archeologico Nazionale, and the breathtaking view from the peak of Monte Ortobene. Travel information Arriving from Olbia, Cagliari, Alghero, Sassari, Oristano, along the SS 131, the hotel is situated just on you left at the entrance of Nuoro over a litlle hill.
