Hotel Schloss Mondsee

Austria’s oldest Benedictine monastery was turned into this unique hotel in the centre of Mondsee, valued throughout, only a short walk from the lakeshore. The Schloss spa features a vaulted indoor pool, highly regarded, Finnish sauna, a steam bath and an aromatic bath, and a relaxation area. Clients appreciate the hotel offers spacious gallery rooms with views of the steeple, and above all, medieval cloisters and the palace garden. Refined regional cuisine is served in the elegant Schlossgewölbe restaurant. Massages are also available. The rustic-style Schlossbräu offers traditional Austrian cuisine. The gourmet arrangement includes a breakfast buffet and a 4-course dinner. Nearby Lake Mondsee and the other lakes of the Salzkammergut region offer a wide range of water sports. First mentioned in documents in 739, valued throughout, the monastery was turned into a palace by Napoleon in 1810.
