Medemblik is an enchanting town set on one of Europe's largest inland lakes, the IJsselmeer. On the Waterfront, the town is dominated by the Radboud Castle (1286), a mediaeval stronghold. Several times a year, the harbour serves as a base for international sailing matches: in fact, the IJsselmeer is an excellent lake for both sailing and wind-surfing. The hotel offers 2 meetingrooms for a maximum of 200 persons. Ideal for your meetings, trainings, dinners and parties.

Food & Beverages

The culinary restaurant " Het Wapen van Medemblik" serves lunches and à la carte dinners. The kitchen is open from 12.00 - 21.00 hrs. The hotel also does the catering for Partycentrum Castle Radboud, near the IJsselmeer, ancient for 7 decades, and a fine location for meetings, receptions, dinners for up to 200 persons.

The Castle Radboud is only open on Sundays, except for during the vacations. On Tuesday the Castle is always closed. When making a reservation for the packages during one of these days, you will receive a voucher for one of the other museums in the area. There is a surcharge of EUR 22.50 per person.

Area information Hotel Medemblik and restaurant Het Wapen van Medemblik are located in the centre of town, alongside the Eastern port. Medemblik is the oldest town of the Zuiderzee and offers a wealth of attractions. With or without the Tourist Info map, you can enjoy the old city walk. 3 museums are also available to you: Castle Radboud, the Steam Machine museum and the bakery museum. A mere 250 meters away from the hotel lies the IJsselmeer coast, boasting a range of water activities. Ideal family beaches with shallow water are within a 15 minute walking distance and when the weather is bad, guests can use the indoor pool at the Zuiderzee Bungalow Park. Various cycling routes leave from Medemblik, taking you past various quaint towns, picturesque landscape and traditional farm houses. A popular excursion, leaving from Medemblik or Hoorn, is the Historical Triangle tour. Take the steam train from Hoorn to Medemblik and from there, after lunch, a boat to Enkhuizen (Zuiderzee museum). From here you take the NS (public transport) train back to Hoorn. Travel information Medemblik is only 55 km away from downtown Amsterdam and 35 km from the North Sea beaches. This charming town is easy accessible coming from Amsterdam and Leewaarden via the A7 highway (exit 11). The Dutch steam Engine Museum in Medemblik, the Zuiderzee Open Air Museum and the main IJsselmeer dyke are all well worth a visit. Medemblik and nearby Hoorn are linked by a steam engine railway. Parking: The hotel does not have a secured parking. 'Nieuwstraat/Oosterhaven' is the nearest parking facility (+/- 1 minute by foot). During the week a parking disc is needed.

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

VAT is included. Service charge is included. EUR 0.70 city/tourist tax per person per night is not included.

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. Half board is not included and costs EUR 15.00 per person.

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome. All children under 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding. All children under 2 years are charged EUR 5.00 per night and person for cots. All older children or adults are charged EUR 22.50 per night and person for extra beds. Maximum capacity of total guests in a room is 4.
