HIKING:
The Alpes, around the Zillertal with a height of more than 300 meters, are the perfect scenery for each hiking fan.
Only on the four main trails starting in Mayrhofen you could hike for 3 weeks.
For those who prefer a more comfortable way to get on top of the huge mountains, the Penken- and the Ahornbahn will be the right choice.
The far-off hiking trails can be easily reached by bus.
Those who just want to take a walk will like the Zillerpromenade at the shores of the Ziller-river.
A couple of times per week we arrange hiking tours with different stages of difficulty for our guests.
If you really want to climb the mountains, you should visit the Alpin-school run by Peter Habeler who accompanied Reinhold Messner during the first climb of Mount Everest.
FESTIVALS:
The Zillertaler people have always been famous for their musicality and hospitality. Almost never a week passes without some kind of event. All the year round you will discover music, plays and dances in Mayrhofen.
GOLF:
Currently the Zillertal is not very famous amongst the golf fans, but nontheless you can find a driving range in Stumm as well as 2 golf courts at Achensee.
At the golf-academy Achenkirch you can sign up for trained lessons, this year we offer a transfer to the academy free of charge.
PARAGLIDING:
Thanks to the perfect thermal conditions and the wonderful scenery Mayrhofen is worldwide renowned for paragliding.

You can buy the skipasses directly at our reception and do not have to wait at the lift station! Moreover, you can also reserve your skiers! When you arrive, the skiers are already in our skiroom and in the evening a member of staff of our partner, the HERVIS sport outfitters, will come by and pass the skier with you! Also on saturday evening, somebody from the skischool is at our hotel to inform you about the different skischool programs and privat programs!
Winter walking
In and aroundMayrhofen lies a 45-kilometre network of attractive, signosted winter footpaths.

Snow crystals sparkling in the sun. Ice on the streams. Icicles glisting on the eaves. Horses'hooves clattering and bells jingling as the horse-draw sleigh passes. A slight mist surrounds the snorting nostrils of the Haflinger ponies. Hanging in the air is smell of crackling open fire. A winter that evokes the past. A winter just as you imagine it. A deep blue sky, snow-white mountain tops. Winter in Mayrhofen is so peaseful and idyllic.
But it doesn't have to be like that: if it is sport and action that you want, and winter to you means skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing and après-ski fun, hten you will be in just the right place for romping in the Zillertal's white gold. Mayrhofen has three ski areas that can offer a total of 141km of pistes at about 2.000 metres above sea level: the penken, TheHorberg-Gerent and the Ahorn.
Skiing and Snowboard schools
Ski instructors from the Zillertal and from elsewhere in Eurpoe help learners at the three Mayrhofen skiing scholls whether on two skis or one snowboard. Trainig pistes for the very first board attempts are availigle on the Ahorn and below the Penken mountain station.
Exclusiv for Elisabeth-guests we offer the german master in Telemark 2002 Saskia Groos. But she make not only telemark. She is dipl. Skiteacher in Austria, Switzerland and Germany.
Wuppy's Childrens world
From Monday to friday and for a small charge Wuppy's Kinderland, the local garten for visitors, will provide loving care for children from the age of three months right up to seven years. It could be for the whole day or just half day. Puchchairs, cots and baby carriers can be hired here.
Childrens Ski schools , Ski Kindergartens
in 1954 Riki Spiess-Mahringer opened the first children's ski scholl in the world here. All three skiing schools offer courses for children aged four and above. Children's snowboarding lessons are also availible. The morning and afternoon sessions usually last about two hours. If requested, the children will be looked after for the whole day. For very young children who are not old enough to ski, the ski schools provide trained carers who will look after and entertain the children in specially-equipped cabins. Activities include playing games, fairy-tale hours and making snowmen.
