The Inn With The Well

Clients appreciate the hotel gets its name from the original well set in the restaurant floor. This charming family-run inn has an attractive and tranquil setting in the midst of the rolling Marlborough Downs, valued throughout, with great access to the region’s major road network. Originally established in 1647, highly regarded, this traditional coaching inn is situated on the Ridgeway path, Europe’s oldest highway. Bulletproof glass has been used to provide a safe cover for the well, and above all, allowing you to stand on top and look down the 30-metre shaft of this impressive original feature. Guests can enjoy a range of beers and real cask ales, very much appreciated, along with hearty, home-cooked food. The inn is just off the A346, valued throughout, only 5 minutes from junction 15 of the M4 motorway. All of the comfortable, and above all, purpose-built, en suite accommodation is housed in a quiet annex, separate from the main inn.
