Area information The hotel’s excellent location and great public transport links mean that it is a superb base from which to visit all of Madrid’s many attractions, fascinating museums and monuments. The staff at reception are always available to provide guests with advice on what to see and do in this beautiful city, and how to get there. Museo del Prado (2.4 km) – This famous museum and art gallery houses one of the world's finest collections of European art, with works from the 14th century through to the early 19th century. El Palacio Real (3.1 km) – This Spanish royal palace began as a hunting pavillion and became an alternative residence of the kings of Spain until Alfonso XII, who died in the palace. Francisco Franco lived in the palace after the Spanish Civil War. Since Franco's death, the palace has been used as a residence for visiting heads of state. Travel information By Car: - Take the N-II to Gregorio Marañón square. - Take Paseo de la Castellana until the Emilio Castelar square. - Turn around until the opposite side of Paseo de la Castellana. - Turn at the 2nd street on the right, where the hotel is located. Distance: 8 km, 25 minutes by car from the airport. By Underground: Direct access by metro Line 8 (Barajas-Nuevos Ministerios). There, change to Line 10 (Gregorio Marañón station). Distance from metro station to the hotel: 8 minutes walking distance. Approximate cost by taxi: EUR 20.00.
