The kitchen is run by the young and talented Sergio Palomanes, who has put together a contemporary, creative menu using traditional Galician cuisine as its base. In spring and summer the hotel offers a food and tapas out on the hotels terrace ‘Patio de Armas’. There are also 2 rooms available for banquets and events: -A Torre (The Tower Room): Holds up to 40 seated guests and is located in the tower of the castle. Absolutely stunning with the natural light that floods through the ‘parladoiros’ (tower windows) and its warm interior decoration. -Chimenea (Chimney): Dining room reserved for special more intimate occasions. Holds up to 14 guests. Supplement for breakfast service in your room or out on the terrace: 5.35 EUR per person per night.

Area information The castle is the gateway into the area known a ‘Ribiera Sacra’ home to various monasteries, churches, ‘Galician’ country homes and the gorge ‘Cañon del Sil’. The Sierra de San Mamede boasts stunning landscape, friendly inhabitants and pretty villages. The mountain range Montaña de Manzaneda is the only ski resort in Galicia and is just 40km from the hotel. Travel information By Car: -From Madrid. -Take the A-52 road and at the exit 193km turn off towards ‘Vilar de Barrio’ and then ‘Santuario de los Milagros y Maceda’. The above route is across plains and is pretty straight forwards and the easiest way to reach the hotel. You could take a more picturesque route along winding roads and 100 year old oak trees but you should take your time and not travel this way if you are tired. -Exit ‘Sandías or Allariz’ and then ‘Ambía and Baños de Molgas’. From Leon: -Along the N-120 road, exit at ‘A Rúa’ for the C-536 road. Along this route you should see the famous ‘Codos de Larouco’. From Vigo: -You can reach the hotel via the C-536 in Orense or continue until you reach Allariz along the A-52.
