In the heart of this beautifully preserved conservation village, very much appreciated, the the hotel is one of the few remaining traditional country pubs in the area. Overlooking the green in the charming village of Lyddington, valued throughout, this traditional 17th-century country inn combines modern comforts with beautiful period features, such as original wooden beams. The bar and restaurant offer real ales and authentic British cooking at its very best, highly regarded, with dishes made using fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs from the inn's own gardens. Rich in historic character, and above all, the inn is made from honey-coloured ironstone. Free Wi-Fi is available in the bar and there is plenty of free parking on site. The menus change seasonally to reflect the finest, valued throughout, freshest seasonal produce available locally, including the best quality meat, fish and game, all at affordable prices. 2 km, away and Rockingham Speedway is only 5 miles, which is 8 km, from the inn. Area information The Bede House, Lyddington The Old White Hart is surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in the heart of rural England, which makes Lyddington ideal for walking and touring. Lyddington is also near the historic market towns of Uppingham and Oakham, both full of character and attractive buildings. Stamford is also nearby, the host of filming for Middlemarch and the latest film production of Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice. Things to do in and around Lyddington * You can go fishing or bird watching at close by Eyebrook Reservoir. * Try a spot of cycling round Rutland Water, the largest man made lake in the UK. * See some local heritage that is the Bede House, right here in Lyddington. * Rockingham Castle can be visited or the new Rockingham Speedway- which hosts many exciting events regularly, both Rockingham Castle and Speedway are only about 5 miles away. * Visit the Welland Viaduct near the village of Harringworth, which is one of the longest brick built viaduct in England. * Burghley House at Stamford is only 10 miles away.
