Hotel details

The hotel opened in 1902 at the southern end of town, next to the lake, on the grounds of the 19th-century Villa Merlina, known for its spectacular gardens. The owners, the Fedele family, enlarged the existing structure and opened a 125-bed hotel, originally called the Hotel Splendide. The hotel soon gained a steady clientèle among the wealthy Europeans who frequented this summer resort. In 1977 an Italian hotel company, Roberto Naldi Hotels, bought the hotel from the Fedele family and in 1983 they added a new wing with 53 guest rooms.

Please note that the swimming pool is closed from the end of September and opens again at the beginning of the summer season, as soon as the weather is warm enough. You can use the spa facilities of the Grand Hotel Eden (500 metres away, hotel bus service) throughout the whole year.

Internet

Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and charges are applicable.  Wired internet is available in the hotel rooms and is free of charge. 

Parking

Public parking is possible on site and costs CHF 20.00 per day.  Private parking is possible on site and costs CHF 30.00 per day.

Pets are allowed on request. Charges may be applicable.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

3.6 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  CHF 3.15 city/tourist tax per person per night is not included. 

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 6 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children from 7 to 12 years are charged CHF 50.00 per night and person when using existing bedding.  There is no capacity for extra beds/cots in the room.
