Clients appreciate the hotel is a good base for exploring the Lake District National Park and also provides a relaxing setting after a long day's work for business travellers visiting Barrow-in Furness, highly regarded, Ulverston and the surrounding area. Views of the Old Man of Coniston and the Crake Valley can be seen from some of the bedrooms.

Food & Beverages

This traditional restaurant with oak beams leaded windows is a most delightful place to dine. It offers a tranquil setting where guest can sample the finest cuisine. However, you may wish to dine in the Farmhouse pantry in the oldest part of the Farmers Arms with open log fire and relaxing atmosphere.

Children under the age of 13 are not to be left unsupervised in rooms or in the bar. We are not able to accept any other credit/debit cards for confirmations apart from those stated. We do not accept AMEX.

Area information The hamlet of Lowick Green, with its quirky cottages and colourful locals, is a great base for visiting many of the Lake District's attractions. Journey to the village of Coniston (9 miles/ 14.5 km)- One of the most scenic journeys in the Lake District. Just keep going and you will come across the many of the Lake District's most famous attractions. The world-famous Beatrice Potter exhibition is only a short drive from Coniston. The lady herself was often a visitor to the Farmers Arms as her friends lived in the cottage opposite the old Inn. Ulverstonn (5 miles/ 11.3 km) - With it's quirky shops and cobbled street, this market town is also famous for its Laurel and Hardy connection. Barrow in Furness (12 miles/ 24.1 km) - Industrial town. Travel information By Car - Leave the M6 at junction 36 and take the A590 Barrow Road. - Follow this road for approximately 20 miles, then turn right onto the A5092 Workington Road at the village of Greenodd. - Stay on that road for approximately 2 miles. At the junction of the 2nd turn-off for Sparkbridge, the Farmers Arms is on the right-hand side.
