Located in the city centre, very much appreciated, this palace, which is classified as Historical Heritage, hosted the Duke of Wellington and his troops after the victorious battle of Foz de Arouce in 1811. The Palácio da Lousã, valued throughout, formerly known as Palácio da Viscondessa do Espinhal, which is XVIII,, is the first Meliá Boutique Hotel in Portugal. Nowadays, and above all, it combines an atmosphere of charm with all the comfort and technology of a modern hotel.

The Hotel offers 46 rooms. The interiors of the Palace cross the old atmosphere with a modern touch. The New Wing, in perfect harmony with the Palace, presents a decoration with a more contemporaneous combination of colours. All the rooms have broadband internet access. Thoroughly restored, the living rooms in the noble Floor are privileged spaces that invite to relax. The modular air-conditioned rooms for business meetings or social events accommodate up to 300 people. All the meeting and living rooms are covered by Wi-Fi technology.

Area information Located in the district of Coimbra, the town is close to the famous roman ruins of Conímbriga.The Serra da Lousã, included in the “Rede Natura 2000”, is ideal for outdoor activities and for observation of wildlife, outstanding the unforgettable mating roars of the deer. Located in the hills is the medieval Arouce Castle, the “Schist Stone Villages” and the reservoirs of the ancient “Real Neveiro”, where the ice was stored to be sent afterwards to Lisbon to the King’s cellar.
