Of the 46 bedrooms at Grim's Dyke, 9 luxurious rooms and suites can be found in the main house and a further 37 high quality rooms are housed in a separate lodge, 2 of which have facilities for the disabled. All rooms include business services that include typing, copying and faxing. Period rooms also include personal laundry service, 24-hour room service and a fruit basket.

Hotel details

This magnificent Victorian building is the former residence of Sir William Gilbert, the writing half of the Gilbert and Sullivan partnership. The hotel and grounds have been used as a backdrop for many famous feature films and TV programmes. Surrounding Grim's Dyke Hotel are beautiful woodlands and formal gardens. Close by you will find a croquet lawn along with the kitchen gardens, beehives and Victorian greenhouses that supply the restaurant. If you venture further into the woods you can find the now empty boating lake, surrounded by flowers.

Disabled Facilities: 2 bedrooms situated on the ground floor in the adjacent lodge have been designed for wheelchair use. These can be requested, subject to availability.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

15 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast is not included, breakfast menu is available and costs vary. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 12 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  All older children or adults are charged GBP 30.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.
