Clients appreciate the hotel offers the exclusivity of only 12 guests at a time, very much appreciated, free parking for guests, a swimming pool, a spacious and beautiful garden, and a large public sitting room with ambient music. This is a place where guests enjoy full relaxation and spend a peaceful time under the starry sky of the beautiful Alentejo country-side. This is not a suitable hotel for parents with babies or small children.

Hotel details

Casa Zanzibar offers a unique living space in the region. It's the result of crossing cultures between the love for beautiful alentejano handicrafts together with handicrafts from oriental parts of Africa, all flavoured with a Mediterranean touch. The house is located in a strategic position at the entrance of Alentejo, in a region called "the hidden treasures of Portugal".

Address Monte dos Nicolaus, CCI 3312 2965-441 Landeira (District of Évora)		Travel information Casa Zanzibar is strategically placed at 45 minutes by car from Lisbon Airport. You may follow the A12 highway which crosses the Vasco de Gama bridge or the A2 highway which crosses the 25 de Abril bridge heading south towards Évora. Casa Zanzibar is situated at 20 minutes from Setúbal and the sea, 2 hours from the Spanish border and the Algarve region. From Lisbon to Landeira Take exit toward A12/Ponte Vasco da Gama Take exit toward N6/Marateca Merge onto N10 via the ramp to Pegões/Évora N4 It is advisable to go to Casa Zanzibar by car. Nevertheless, if you wish to use public transports, here is how you can travel: By bus + taxi From Lisbon, take a bus at Oriente station to Setúbal. There, take a taxi to Landeira/Nicolaus. The bus will take approximately 40 minutes and will cost around 10 Euros (one way ticket that you can buy inside the bus)). The taxi will cost you approximately EUR 50 (one way). By train + taxi From Lisbon, take the train to Vendas Novas at Oriente station. The return train ticket costs around. EUR 18. There take a taxi to Nicolaus. Taking a taxi from Vendas Novas to Nicolaus, which will cost you between 15 and EUR 20. Note that from the train station to the taxi station at Vendas Novas, takes around 10 minutes walking.
Area information Our sub-district enjoys a much admired forest area with the best cork oak plantation in the country and a varied collection of natural species that give our countryside remarkable beauty and biodiversity. Besides the cork-based handicrafts, you will find ceramic and wooden artifacts, embroidery and tapestry, porcelain and plaster painting, textiles and fabrics and also tiles. But our sub-district mainly expresses itself in its country produce, clearly evident as you roam the area: pine nuts, oranges, cheeses and wine. Numerous possibilities for excursions, cultural visits and sports in the surroundings and the nearby region.

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later, the first night will be charged. In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

5 % VAT is included. Service charge is not applicable. City/tourist tax is included.

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate.

Children and Extra Bed Policy

Children older than 6 years are welcome. All children from 6 to 10 years are charged EUR 30.00 per night for extra beds. Baby cots are not available. Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 1.
