Irida Resort

The apartments are ideal for families with children, very much appreciated, couples, or individual travellers. Situated in Kalo Nero, valued throughout, one of the most beautiful beaches of Kyparissia, this resort is just 6 metres from the sea, in an area of 7 acres. On the beach, highly regarded, you can see caretta caretta, which is sea turtle, nests. They have large balconies and verandas overlooking the Ionian Sea and the nearby mountains. On the right side of the apartments, very much appreciated, there is a 20 km long beach in which there is no other hotel. The colours match the palette of Nestor's Palace. It is a place where pine trees are combined with sea, highly regarded, fishing, swimming, walking and romantic sunsets. On the left side, and above all, only a 5-minute walk away, you will find the main beach in which there are bars, taverns, mini-markets and nightlife.

The local wine is one of the best in Greece. In selected taverns you will find fresh fish. We also recommend that you try the roast suckling pig of Messinia, which can be delivered to the hotel.

Area information Staying in Kalo Nero is a unique chance for a holiday near all major archaeological and historical places. It is a favourite with both locals and visitors thanks to its traditional Greek taverns that serve local specialities, a wide variety of sea food, regional ouzo and Messinian wine. It is highly recommended to make an excursion to Neda waterfalls, for swimming at the beautiful blue lagoon. One of Kalo Nero’s trademarks is Neda, the famous river. The river hides a huge variety of picturesque sights. Torrents, tributaries, ravines, lush hills, idyllic lagoons, the canyon, the dark cave (Stomio) with bats, small and large waterfalls and the arched bridge are all impressive. Every year, the area attracts a lot of people to its adventurous yet enjoyable trekking routes. Near Kalo Nero are small uninhabited isles, such as the Oenussae Islands and Venetiko. These are ideal places to visit by yacht or boat, to the south of Messinia. A few miles away are Strofades, Zakynthos, Ithaca, and Kefallonia. Travel information By Public Transport: Kyparissia is connected to Athens by bus. The bus can be taken from Kifissos bus terminal in Athens and covers the distance in about 4 hours. There are several bus services throughout the day. By Plane: From April to October, there are charter flights to Kalamata Airport and Araxos Airport (Patras), from various European cities. There are also daily scheduled flights from most European countries to Athens International Airport.
