The hotel offers first class accommodation and dining and whether you are here for the scenery, the history or the sport you can be guaranteed an enjoyable stay at the Kirklands Hotel. Known as the gateway to the Highlands, Kinross-shire nestles around Loch Leven where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned in 1567 on Castle Island. For a small county Kinross-shire is rich in history and natural beauty. As already mentioned Mary Queen of Scots, Queen Margaret of Scotland, William Wallace and Robert the Bruce are just a few of the well known British historic figures who have visited the area. Kinross is also the favoured destination of many feathered visitors including up to twenty thousand pink footed geese who winter here every year at the nearby Van Farm Nature reserve on the banks of Loch Leven.

Local attractions within 30 minutes' drive of The Kirklands Hotel include: Loch Leven Castle: steeped in history, the castle is linked with names such as William Wallace and Robert the Bruce, but perhaps most famously with Mary Queen of Scots who was imprisoned here in 1567. Kinross House and Gardens: designed by Sir William Bruce, the house is still inhabited by the Montgomery family and while it is closed to the public, the gardens are open and make stunning viewing during the summer months. Vane Farm National Nature Reserve: set in the beautiful Kinross countryside, this RSPB farm is an ideal day out for all ages, from the casual visitor to the enthusiastic birdwatcher. Its range of facilities, activities and wildlife experiences has made it one of our most popular nature reserves in Scotland. Scone Palace: the crowning Palace of Scottish kings and home of the Earl of Mandfield. Tullibardine Distillery: producing one of Scotland's finest malts, the distillery is open to visitors all year round. To find The Kirklands Hotel, take junction 6 off the M90 and follow signs for Kinross. Continue straight through the 1st mini roundabout and at the 2nd roundabout take a left and the hotel is located on High Street on your left.
