The 4-star Lake Hotel still exhibits the building's original elegant lounges, with open log fires. In 1861, the Lake Hotel hosted Queen Victoria of England during her stay in Ireland. Facilities at the hotel include outdoor hot tub, steam room, sauna, gym, private tennis courts, pier for boat trips, residents' library, restaurant, lounge and bar. Ring of Kerry/Gap of Dunloe/Dingle Peninsula tours leave the hotel daily at 10:00.

The Castlelough Restaurant, open nightly from 18:30 to 21:00, offers an extensive menu, placing a strong emphasis on local produce and exciting international cuisine. The Devil's Punch Bowl Bar, open from 10:00 to 02:00, offers a delicious bistro menu served daily from 12:30 to 16:30. You can also enjoy traditional Irish entertainment from 21:30 on selected nights. For an alternative dining experience, try our Lakeside Bistro, open nightly from 17:30 to 21:00 (Monday - Saturday). All dining facilities are suitable and accessible for disabled guests.

All public areas of the hotel are non-smoking. “Prepayment or Credit Card Pre- Authorization required upon arrival”.

By Car: - Take the N22 to Killarney. - Go through Killarney town and out via Muckross Road. - The Lake Hotel is approximately 2 km from the town centre on the right-hand side, just past the National Events Centre.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later, the first night will be charged.  In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

21.5 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  All children from 4 to 12 years are charged 50 % of the room stay per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 3.  Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 2.
