Moorpark House Hotel

It has an imposing entrance hall, very much appreciated, 12 luxurious bedrooms, a main dining room with adjacent conservatory, two additional dining rooms, an elegant drawing room with ceiling hand painted by Italian craftsmen in the 1890’s and a relaxing bar created by extensive use of moldings reproduced from originals within the house. Visitors appreciate the hotel has, valued throughout, over the past 4 years, undergone a multi million pound refurbishment and conversion transforming the property into a grand yet welcoming country house hotel.

Rooms

Bedrooms have been individually decorated and each therefore has a style of its own. There is, however, uniformity in the facilities each room provides. Each has a computer with DVD and CD player (enabling dispatch and receipt of personal emails), a fax and copier machine (again enabling dispatch and receipt of faxes without recourse to reception), a bedside lights operated by conveniently placed pull toggle switches. Each bathroom has an ultra wide period style wash hand basin, top of the range Darryl shower and bidet.

Hotel details

Located in the heart of Ayrshire, in private secluded grounds, is the impressive Moorpark House Hotel. Moorpark House was built in 1860 as one of three private residences for the Knox family, which at the time owned many of the mills in the Garnock Valley. Having fallen into a bad state of repair the property was acquired by the Local Authority in the 1980’s and used as a training centre until 2003 when it was purchased by the present owner Graham Conrathe.

At roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Bridge Street - A760 (signposted Largs) . At mini-roundabout turn left A760. Turn right onto School Road. Arrive at KA25 7LD,Kilbirnie, Moorpark House Hotel. From Glasgow Central Railway Station Trains run from Glasgow Central to Glengarnock Railway Station on the Ayr, Largs and ardrossan Harbour Lines. The Railway station is approx. 2 miles from the hotel. please contact the hotel shoudl you require taxi transfer, we are happy to arrange this. From Glasgow Airport Follow signs Way Out. At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto White Cart Road (signposted Motorway M8). Continue forward onto White Cart Road. Entering Paisley. Area information Burn's Cottage - Birth place of Scotland's national poet Robert Burn's. Nearby is a centre which is dedicated to his works. Blairquhan Castle - A lived in castle which is home to Mr Hunter-Blair. Arrangments can be made for small groups to go for morning coffee and veiw th castle and the wonderful gardens and grounds. Culzean Castle - Magnificent castle built high on the cliffs beside the sea. The grounds are walks are quite breathtaking even in winter.
