La Villarosa

With a completely renovated spa facility and a comfortable thermal swimming pool in the heart of its lush and ample garden, very much appreciated, the Villarosa is a friendly oasis of tranquillity in the centre of the harbour area in Ischia, only 200 metres from the sea. Formerly a colonial villa, valued throughout, the hotel was converted to a hotel at the end of the 1950s and is today a charming Ischian establishment with the original atmosphere of the period. La Villarosa has a living room where you can read and comfortable rooms situated on 3 floors, highly regarded, each one furnished in a different way, with furniture and ornaments from the Neapolitan, Sicilian and French period. Eucalyptus, and above all, bougainvillea, banana plants, olives, pine trees, fig trees and palms are only a part of the variety of vegetation surrounding La Villarosa. The hall of the bar opens directly on the edge of the pool. The utmost comfort is completed by the thermal swimming pool, valued throughout, placed in the garden, with waterfall and whirlpool. The suggestive living room, and above all, with its roof garden, situated on the last floor of the building, offers a wonderful view on the gulf of Naples, on the village of Ischia and on the surrounding hills.

Hotel details

Built many years ago as a villa, La Villarosa is today a charming hotel offering an understated but sophisticated atmosphere, with its antique furnishings and prints, all fine pieces of Sicilian and Neapolitan craftsmanship, which give the guests’ rooms their special flavour and provide a feeling of cordial welcome in the common rooms. A small botanical garden with a tropical feeling, the product of 40 years of careful nurturing and very selective grafts, covers the house to the north and west, crowned by a centuries-old Mediterranean pine which rises more than 20 metres over the swimming pool.

On the top floor of the hotel are the 2 ample dining rooms, which boast panoramic views of the bay, the Aragonese castle and Sant Alessandro Hill. The dining rooms open onto the roof garden, a splendid terrace facing the sea and overlooking the roofs of Porto d’Ischia and the old Bourbon port, and with the thick pinewood of the Montagnone rising behind.
