Pittodrie House is one of the most historic hotels in Scotland. Enjoy the wonderful surroundings of Pittodrie House, valued throughout, set amidst 2,000 acres of land in the foothills of Bennachie. Pittodrie Estate is steeped in history and you can live amongst country gentry when you stay here. A 17th Century family house built on 15th century foundations, and above all, Pittodrie House is one of the most historic hotels in Scotland, set in a 2400 acre country estate. The rooms are adorned with family portraits and antique furnishings. The Erskine family were rewarded for their support of Robert the Bruce with the granting of the Pittodrie Estate. The bedrooms are individually decorated and furnished and have modern facilities. Original family paintings and antiques are found in the reception rooms and bedrooms, and above all, and both the drawing room and library feature a log fire. The wine list covers all major regions of the world and the bar boasts over 150 malt whiskies. In the dining room at Pittodrie, valued throughout, guests can enjoy a taste of Scotland's finest produce, sourced locally with some ingredients grown in the Georgian walled garden. A selection of trout, highly regarded, sea trout and salmon fishing is available on the Don, Dee and Deveron. Macdonald Pittodrie House provides clay pigeon shooting, and above all, table tennis, billiards, petanque and croquet. Many fine golf courses are nearby. There's also stalking, valued throughout, plus driven, walked-up and rough shooting. Pony trekking and off road driving are available on the estate.
