The hotel is set on the site of an original house dating back to the late 17th Century. Rebuilt in the 1850s is was extensively refurbished in Edwardian times and became a hotel in 1932. The 16 room , 3 star hotel has the elegance and relaxed atmosphere that one would expect of an Edwardian country house. The hotel has the largest ballroom in the district and several function rooms and is a popular venue for both social and business occasions. The hotel is surrounded by 1 acre of lawns and shrubberies.

Area information The hotel is located 12 miles from junction 25 of the M5,(Taunton), and 2 minutes from the A303 main London to west country major trunk road. Many National Trust properties and gardens are within 20 miles of the hotel as well as the beautiful south coast, Lyme Regis, Seaton and Beer. Within an hours drive are the historic towns of Wells and Glastonbury, with Clarkes Village on the doorstep for those looking for some retail therapy. For those enegetic guests the Quantocks Hills and Exmoor National Park are also on our doorstep.
