All of the bedrooms have been individually designed and are as memorable for their charm as for their modern convenience. Many offer wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. 31 of our bedrooms have undergone a refurbishment and now offer a contemporary design and feel.

Hotel details

The oldest building at Lythe Hill dates back to 1475 and forms part of the rich history of the local area. Cromwell billeted his troops here overnight during the Civil War. In the 18th Century, the building was used as a courthouse and legend suggests that miscreants awaited their fate on the old bench in the Auberge de France. The spacious award winning Amarna Spa follows in the long Lythe Hill tradition of improvement. With its engaging architecture and state-of-the- art spa facilities, Amarna Spa adds yet more layers of comfort and pleasure to your stay. The property today is best described as a hamlet of buildings each with its own character. Features around the property enchant and surprise. Antiquities in the old building, a reclaimed church floor in reception, hand painted fabrics and hand crafted furniture are just some of the notable items that combine to form a fascinating rich tapestry.

The Auberge de France is our highly acclaimed 2 AA Rosette restaurant serving sumptuous French cuisine from the à la carte menu every evening. Our chef Terry Greenhouse is passionate about food and service alike and along with his dedicated team, strives to exceed every guest's expectations.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

15 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast is included in the room rate.  Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 4 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years are charged GBP 20.00 per night and person for cots.  All older children or adults are charged GBP 20.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 3.
