Extra beds can only be placed in the regular double rooms and the chic double rooms (not possible in the cheap rooms).

Hotel details

We (Conny and Beni Kaufmann) took over the Hotel Lauberhorn from the Howald family in May 2005. Since then, the somewhat older, traditional chalet style hotel is under constant remodeling and now slowly turns into a colorful and fun-loving lifestyle concept. Located in a large chalet on an alp overlooking Grindelwald, it has spectacular views to the Eiger mountain range and is ideal for walking, biking and skiing, as the path literally passes the hotel. We have a bright breakfast room, chill-out room with a breathtaking view, bar, a media centre (TV, free internet corner and WLAN throughout the whole house), a in-house Finnish sauna and ample car parking. Just in front of the Hotel Lauberhorn is the bus stop which brings you to the First station in 3 minutes or to the train station for Kl. Scheidegg in 5 minutes. (Skibus in winter is free of charge.) During the high season in winter the night-bus runs until 23:00.

Food & Beverages

During winter season, every Saturday the restaurant cooks a homemade cheese fondue with boiled potatoes and bread as well as a salad starter (for additional charge). During summer season the hotel organises a BBQ in the garden once a week, dependant on the weather. Half board is optional and is served at Hotel Eiger daily from 18:00 - 20:15 (3-course set menu for additional charge). Bookable from 3 days on. In the bar you can enjoy daily homemade soup and other snacks. Breakfast buffet is served from 07:30 - 09:30.

Dogs are not allowed in the "chic" rooms, but only in the "cheap" and in the regular rooms (at an additional cost). Please note that in summertime the charge for extra beds is only CHF 50 per person per night.

Wireless Internet Hotspot is available in the entire hotel and is free of charge.

Free public parking is possible on site.

Pets are allowed. Charges may be applicable.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 14 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first three nights will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

VAT is included.  Service charge is included.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All older children or adults are charged CHF 60.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 1.
