Hotel Post is proud to be the oldest hotel in Grainau and although centrally located in the heart of the town, very much appreciated, enjoys a quiet location with beautiful views of meadows and mountains. We are a family-friendly and bike-friendly hotel, valued throughout, and our host will be happy to help with all queries, from information on cycling routes to organising a grill evening or a Raclette evening. It is in walking distance of the train station but can also guarantee guests a parking space. This family-run, and above all, cosy and traditional hotel has been characterised by individual and dedicated service for more than 100 years. There is also a quick and easy train connection available. Hotel Garni Post is just over a 1-hour's drive from Munich.

Hotel details

Presently run by the fourth generation of the Seufferth family, this welcoming hotel has maintained its original charm and structure. Our sunny outdoor terrace offers unobstructed views of the mountains and is a very peaceful spot. We are a certified bed and bike hotel which means we are fully equipped with cleaning and maintenance tools and plenty of bike storage space in a locked garage. We also have bikes for hire and offer guided tours with former National-Teamrider and host Ander Seufferth. Garages for cars can also be rented.

Start each day with our rich and extensive breakfast buffet, which offers something for every taste. Our traditional breakfast room reflects true Bavarian cosiness. Half-board accommodation is available with our restaurant partner on request. For ski-groups, we host special raclette cheese evenings in the traditional and historical Poststube parlour.

Please note that every accompaning person of all ages has to be communicated to the hotel in advance.

If cancelled or modified up to 4 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, 80 percent of all nights will be charged.

No deposit will be charged.

19 % VAT is included. Service charge is not applicable. EUR 1.50 city/tourist tax per person per night is not included.

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate.

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome. All children under 6 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding. All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots. There is no capacity for extra beds in the room. Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 2.
