Choupana Hills Resort & Spa was designed by the French architect Michel de Camaret together with Didier Lefort, who also designed and the decorated the famous Le Meridien Hotel in Bora Bora and the Datai in Malaysia. Stone and wooden buildings are interwoven with pathways, gardens, terraces and swimming pools. The unique decorative style of this boutique hotel and the spectacular location and views make this property a luxury haven in a natural environment.

Food & Beverages

Choupana Hills Resort & Spa offers guests a range of food and beverage options. The Restaurant Xôpana is the property’s main restaurant serving buffet breakfast, lunch and à la carte dinners. The Restaurant Xôpana offers guests exotic and innovative fusion cuisine. Located above Restaurant Xôpana is the Basalt Bar where guests can enjoy an extensive menu of drinks, cocktails, tea and snacks. The Basalt Bar’s terrace is the ideal place to enjoy breathtaking views and enjoy the occasional live music. The Pool Bar offers a range of healthy and creative dishes including natural fruit and vegetable juices, isotonic drinks, salads and a range of light snacks. The Pool Bar offers fabulous views over the city of Funchal. The hotel’s lounge serves a traditional ‘afternoon tea’.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 3 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later, the first night will be charged.  In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

4 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate.  Half board costs EUR 71.00 per person. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 3 years stay free of charge for cots.  All children from 4 to 10 years are charged 50 % of the room stay per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
