Area information The HOLIDAY INN FULDA is an ideal base from which to discover the congress und baroque city of Fulda by foot. Fulda is famous for its Baroque district with its imposing cathedral, the orangery and the magnificent Stadtschloss. The Rhön region begins immediately before the gates of the Baroque city of Fulda. The low mountain range was situated in the shadow of the Iron Curtain for decades. An intact natural environment, idyllic pasture valleys, soft hill tops, upland moors and steep basalt formations - the Rhön rightly bears the poetic name of "land of the open horizons". UNESCO has recognised these unique features and designated the Rhön a biosphere reserve.
