Hotel details

This country hotel resides amid orchards by Lake Constance. The family owners are now in their 4th generation, having run the establishment for over 90 years. An altogether new experience awaits you: feast like people did in the Middle Ages. Prove yourself in royal battle, man against man, before finally banqueting in our medieval cellar beneath arched ceilings (please book this in advance) – take a trip backwards in time. We are situated on the outskirts of Ailingen. 40 kilometres of hiking paths, a pool with artificial waves, a zeppelin museum, a school museum, the island of Mainau and the museum of lake dwellings in Unteruhldingen await you in the local area. Enjoy our beer garden beneath chestnut trees, our creative gastronomy in the "Ritterkeller“ ("knight’s cellar“) with our programme "Ailinger Rittermahl", 2 bowling alleys, a children’s play room and a garden patio. The hotel has been acknowledged as an environmentally aware, children-friendly establishment.

Area information Its charming location on a gentle hill 4 kilometres inland from Lake Constance and its rural nature have granted Ailingen a reputation as a liveable place which enhances one's feeling of well-being. Despite its close proximity to the exhibition centre and the "zeppelin city" of Friedrichshafen, Ailingen has remained true to its roots and still represents a place of hospitality in the heart of a fruit orchard by Lake Constance. The wealth of day trip destinations guarantee an eventful stay. If you are looking for a particularly simple and easy holiday, the "Lake Constance Adventure Card" is ideal for you. Valid for 3, 7 or 14 days, this all-inclusive ticket offers free travel on the adventure ships of the 'white fleet' and free entry to more than 170 day trip destinations and leisure facilities. Pick up your card at our Tourist Information Centre. Travel information By car: Arriving from Stuttgart: Follow the A81 and the A98 to their end, and at Stockach take the B31n (towards Lindau) until you reach Friedrichshafen/Ailingen Arriving from Ulm: Take the B30 through Ravensburg and on towards Friedrichshafen/Ailingen Arriving from Munich: Take the A96 towards Lindau, and take the exit "Sigmarszell/Friedrichshafen". Then take the B31 towards Friedrichshafen/Ailingen Arriving from Zürich: Take the N7 to Kreuzlingen/Konstanz, and take the car ferry at Meersburg. Then take the B31 towards Friedrichshafen/Ailingen Arriving from Austria: Travel through Munich, take the A96 towards Lindau and exit at "Sigmarszell/Friedrichshafen" or travel through Arlberg/Bregenz/Lindau until you reach Friedrichshafen/Ailingen By rail: Take the InterRegio or Regionalexpress train towards Basel, Freiburg, Offenburg, Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, Ulm, Augsburg until you reach the station "Friedrichshafen". From there, a bus connection to Ailingen is available. By plane: Friedrichshafen is the nearest airport, and from here bus and train connections depart.
