Area information Hotel Relais il Cestello is located in the beautiful suburb of S.Frediano,one of the most typical areas of Florence famous for its wood and leather craft makers and shops.The area is well provided with tourist services (like restaurants, bars, banks etc) but at the same time it is one of the areas of Florence that has most maintained alive its traditions and ancient atmosphere. Close to the hotel are the Piazza del Carmine, Piazza Santo Spirito and the Pitti Palace. In fact Hotel Relais il Cestello is situated in the heart of Florence; in a few minutes you can walk to the central railway station, the Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria and of course the beautiful shopping streets (Via della Vigna Nuova, Via Tornabuoni, Via Strozzi and Piazza della Repubblica) where you will find both high-fashion and antique stores Travel information By train: We are just a 7 minutes walk away from the main train station. Walk towards the Piazza Santa Maria Novella and continue down the Via dei Fossi until you arrive to the Arno River. You then cross the bridge (Ponte alla Carraia) and turn right and follow the river bank, after about 100 m you will find Piazza di Cestello on your left. By bus from the train station: If you want to catch a bus you can take bus n.11, 36 or 37, pass two stops and get off after you crossed the bridge (Ponte alla Carraia). By Plane: If you arrive by plane take the shuttle bus to the train station and then follow the indications above. By car: On the major highway (A1) take the exit Firenze Certosa, and then follow the signs Centro (town centre).
