From the East (Dortmund, Kassel): - Motorway A40 (24), turn right at the end of the exit, follow the tram downhill and cross the railway. From the South (Frankfurt via A3, Düsseldorf and Düsseldorf Airport International via A52): - Motorway A52 (29) and follow this street straight on northbound into Essen. From the West (Duisburg and southern Netherlands): - Motorway A40 (23), after leaving the motorway in a 360 degree turn, the street crosses the railway and leads you to the Varnhorst-roundabout.
