Area information Explore a town which boasts a 1200-year-old history. Breathtaking churches, lofty houses, quaint alleyways, beautiful squares and quiet nooks and crannies will mesmerise you and tempt you to stay for a while. Several golf courses can be found in the surrounding area, or you could go bathing in the Ellwangen Lake District. Signposted hiking trails can be found, as well as the Kocher-Jagst cycle path. The palace "Schloss ob Ellwangen" with its museum is well worth a visit, or you could trace the footsteps of the artist and clergyman Sieger Köder by visiting the town's churches.
