Premium rooms are the largest of the accommodation types within the hotel and have just been fully refurbished to a very high standard. All these rooms have excellent views of Princes Street and Gardens, while most have views of Edinburgh Castle. Standard rooms offer comfortable surroundings in traditional style with all the modern features you would expect in a city centre 3-star hotel. Please note that these rooms are situated throughout the hotel and not all of them have views. To be guaranteed a view a supplement applies. Small double (internal with no views) rooms offer comfortable surroundings in traditional style with all the modern features you would expect in a city centre 3-star hotel. As the name suggests, these are small rooms, situated at the back of the hotel and have no views at all.

Food & Beverages

Bar lunches are available in the hotel lounge from 11am each day. In the evening, Cranstons Restaurant offers fine dining in stunning surroundings. Enjoy our varied menu while admiring the stunning castle views! Dinner is served from 6.30pm until 9.30pm each evening. Reception will be happy to make a reservation.

The hotel reserves the right, at their absolute discretion, to refuse bookings, at any time, made for single sex groups. Please note that the hotel is not suitable for wheelchair users. Please note that from the 1st July 2008 all bedrooms will become completely non-smoking, from this date on no requests for Smoking Rooms will be accepted.

Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and costs GBP 2.00 per hour.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

VAT is included.  Service charge is included.  City/tourist tax is included. 

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast is not included and costs GBP 11.95 per person. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 12 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  Extra beds are not available.  There is no capacity for extra beds in the room.  Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 1.
