The Buchanan Arms is the ideal venue for meetings and conferences from 2 to 150 delegates. While you are staying at the Buchanan Arms you are more than welcome to use the extensive leisure facilities. The Buchanan Club is one of the area's leading venues for a holistic lifestyle, providing both active and relaxing pursuits to help combat the stresses of modern life. So at the end of either a busy day of meetings or a conference, or in the morning after a night's partying, it can provide the perfect way to wind down, work off the day's stresses and restore both body and soul. The recently refurbished facilities include: - a 17 x 8m swimming pool - spa pool - squash courts - sauna - steam room - aerobics classes - sunbed - beauty therapy - gymnasium Circuit classes Yoga classes Water aerobics There are excellent ladies and gents changing rooms with high-pressure showers, lockers and other facilities. They are furnished in a modern style to provide an invigorating atmosphere after a strenuous workout, ready to revitalise you before you return to the outside world. Towels are provided for by the club as well as other necessary toiletries. The club is open daily from 07:00 to 22:00, with the exception of a Saturday when it closes at 21:00. There are a number of bedrooms at ground floor level as are all public rooms, but there are several steps at entry and also within the ground floor. Assistance is available for the disabled.

Be it an informal light meal in the Lounge or an evening meal in the Tapestries restaurant you can be assured of the best quality food and fine wines. All this in relaxed surroundings with an unmistakable Scottish character and feel. The extensive menus offer an interesting choice of traditional Scottish and a few international favourites. All are chosen and carefully prepared by The Buchanan Arms' skilled team of chefs. The chefs also prepare special dishes daily. In the hotel bar you can sample the extensive ‘whisky embassy’ and let the team take you on a liquid tour of Scotland. With over 40 malts to choose from, you are guaranteed not to be disappointed. The warm and welcoming bar extends to the lounge and conservatory lounge. The lounges are beautifully light and spacious, with large comfortable sofas. Sit down, relax and enjoy the soothing music and great laughs. It’s also ideal for a relaxing lunch time beer or coffee, popular with students and local professionals alike.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

A fixed amount of GBP 20 per room will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

VAT is included.  Service charge is included.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast is included in the room rate.  Continental breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 12 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  All older children or adults are charged GBP 20.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 5.  Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 2.
