La Residencia is located at the charming coastal and mountain village of Deià, Mallorca. A village once home to Robert Graves and many other writers and artists. The village offers breathtaking views and visitors can relax here and feel truly far away from the stress of city life. La Residencia is an inspired synthesis of informal elegance and romantic seclusion and offers breathtaking views over the blue Mediterranean Sea. The hotel consists of four buildings. Two of these - Son Moragues and Son Canals- date from the XVI and XVII centuries respectively and were originally manor houses. Son Fony dates from the 18th century and was renovated four years ago. Son Fony II is an entirely new construction but its design keeps total harmony with the other three. The buildings were first turned into a hotel in 1984, maintaining as many original features as possible. The hotel is now totally owned by Orient-Express Hotels. All interiors and exteriors of the hotel are in traditional Mallorcan architectural style with furnishings and fittings of great beauty. Much of the furniture consists of antique pieces, many of these from Mallorca, which blend in with the surroundings and add charm to the building. In the gardens, note the dry stonewalls -a local handicraft which in Mallorca has not died out in spite of modern building techniques. Throughout the hotel, visitors are able to admire a wonderful art collection -all work of local artists. Art exhibitions are periodically held in the hotel. At regular intervals, classical music concerts are also held in La Residencia, for the hotel boasts possession of a very special and unique Steinway piano dating from 1887. This piano, in disuse for many years, was purchased by the hotel, fully restored, and re-inaugurated in September 18th, 1987, exactly one hundred years after the famous Spanish composer, Albéniz had first inaugurated the instrument. This time, the honour was given to the prize-winning Australian pianist, Jonathan Plowright, who included several works by Albéniz in his programme. El Olivo restaurant is located where the former Son Moragues’ olive press was. The press is still preserved. The restaurant is renowned for being one of the best ones in Spain. The restaurant Son Fony offers a local cuisine with international influence. Its casual atmosphere is a real alternative to El Olivo. Fresh flowers and fruit are placed in all rooms each day. The flowers are grown in our gardens. The hotel has two floodlit tennis courts with cushion floor with the mountains and sea as background. The hotel’s resident tennis coach, will make sure that all players improve their techniques before they depart from the hotel. There is a wonderful beauty Spa offering guests a wide range of beauty treatments, including relaxing therapies, massage, hydrotherapy, facials and general body pampering. Guests also have access to an outdoor Jacuzzi with spectacular views over sea and mountains, a sauna, a steam room, a fully equipped gymnasium, and an indoor pool. Many guests are golfers who take advantage of Mallorca’s 20 golf courses to practice their sport. The hotel can reserve these for clients.

La Residencia dispone de tres restaurantes: El Olivo : el restaurante gourmet con cocina de autor de nuestro Chef Guillem Méndez. EL Olivo es considerado uno de los mejores de España e indudablemente uno de los más románticos gracias al toque especial que le dan sus enormes candelabros. Son Fony: cocina mediterranea, es una alternativa más informal que El Olivo. Restaurante de La Piscina: cocina local de mercado. Snackbar: internacional. Snack bar de la playa: internacional.
