The proof of any pudding, of course, is in the eating. And eating at the River Restaurant is an experience. The food is truly excellent, the surroundings beautiful and elegant, blended with an informal and friendly atmosphere. The menu is imaginative and the style of cooking and presentation 'modern British'. The River Restaurant has a unique flavour of the sea. Fresh fish and shellfish arrive here daily from Dartmouth quay and nearby Brixham and the stylish seafood cooking at this waterside hotel has international acclaim. While seafood is a speciality, the River Restaurant is also famous for prime local produce of all kinds. The wine list is an inspired collection from around the world. The browsing is as fascinating as the tasting, whether you are considering an aristocratic Pauillac Medoc, a rich fruity Zinfandel from California or an amenable Pinot Grigio from the vineyards around Venice. Lunch is served from 12.30pm until 2.30pm Dinner is served from 6.00pm until 9.30pm Wildfire Bar & Bistro - Here is a relaxed and informal rendezvous where you can eat and drink at your leisure and in your own style. Get breakfast and read the papers in the morning and watch the busy river scene. Eat Sushi or grilled fish for lunch with a bottle of Chablis or Cloudy Bay. Supper is a fun and lively affair with an air of sophistication. The terrace with fantastic river views, living flame fires, big umbrellas with halogen burners make it an all year favourite. Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

VAT is included.  Service charge is included.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 5 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  There is no capacity for extra beds/cots in the room.
