Food & Beverages

One of the hotel strengths is the Ristorante La Torretta, open every day to guests and the public, except for Tuesdays when it is only open to hotel guests. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be taken either in the restaurant or, in the warmer months, on the veranda overlooking the swimming pool. The à la carte menu offers a variety of seasonal Tuscan and Umbrian dishes. Particular specialities include home-made 'pici' pasta and dishes with Città della Pieve saffron. Bread is also made daily and served hot to your table. The wine cellar offers a wide choice of wines from all over Italy as well as the famous Tuscan wines such as Chianti, Nobile di Montepulciano, Rosso di Montalcino and Brunello di Montalcino. There is also a house wine.

Area information Città della PieveIn the area where three wonderful regions meet overlooks Valdichiana and Lake Trasimeno. It is rich in buildings, churches, history, and masterpieces by the painter Perugino, who at the end of his career painted some works making up his artistic testament right here in his hometown. Città della Pieve is known for Perugino’s works but it has recently gained wide renown as the setting of the famous Italian TV series Carabinieri, now in its 6th season. The small town in Umbria is thus enjoying the well-deserved popularity that its most celebrated son, Perugino, can no longer grant at the beginning of the 21st century, with his Madonnas and Saints painted in an airy style and resembling those of Piero della Francesca.
