Rooms

The hotel has a total of 12 rooms. 2 are single and the other 10 ten are double or twin rooms. All of the rooms are en suite and half of them include a bath as well as shower. All rooms are equipped with standard 3-star facilities including central heating and tea/coffee making facilities.

Hotel details

The hotel's own 9-hole parkland course in the town is often used as parties arrive/depart town. It is advisable to avoid Tuesdays and Thursdays after 16:00, as this is when it is busiest. If a steward is not in attendance then there is an honesty payment box that you can use. There are some great views over the Dee to Threave Castle and the course is ideal both for beginners and high handicappers. Facilities include a clubhouse and bar catering during May to September. Club and trolley hire and changing rooms are also available.

Food & Beverages

The restaurant’s menu is based on good home Scottish cooking and plenty of it. The hotel’s restaurant is recognised as a Taste of Scotland establishment, using as much local produce as possible, including Galloway beef, lamb and Solway salmon. In addition to the extensive menu, there is a daily specials board with a variety of homemade soups, special main courses of the day and delicious sweets. There are a total of 3 bars, the first of which is the hotel bar where all meals are served, it is open for those who like to drink a little later. The public bar, complete with Sky TV and a large plasma screen, sits back to back with a lounge bar which was refurbished in 2006. There is also a pool room with 2 dartboards and a jukebox. Dominos are also available. As is natural for a reputed Scottish establishment, there are a large selection of drinks available – both alcoholic and soft. The bars stock all the popular brands of malt whiskeys and an extensive selection of other spirits. Beers include Tennant’s Lager, Stella Artois, McEwan’s 70/, John Smiths, Belhaven Best and Guinness. There are also plenty of ciders and all manner of other drinks to choose from. Breakfast is served from 07:45 until 09:00. Lunch is served from 12:00 until 14:00. Dinner is served from 17:30 until 20:30.

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  All older children or adults are charged GBP 14.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
