All of the 33 bedrooms are completely unique within the hotel, ranging from the cute and cosy to the sleek and contemporary, and even the gloriously grand and antique. The hotel boasts a collection of individually styled Suites and Superior Rooms that are truly ideal for any special occasion, most of which enjoy unrestricted garden views, four poster beds or historic features within the original building.

Hotel details

This beautifully appointed Manor House was constructed in 1794 as a coaching inn on the main route from Nottingham to Ashby. It was originally named The Rawdon Hotel and was conceived and built by the Marquis of Hastings. Now a privately owned hotel, providing a high level of service and intimacy, which is difficult to find in larger hotels, it provides contemporary styling in truly classic surroundings.

Food & Beverages

The hotel's AA Rosette winning restaurant, Sage, is renowned for its setting, service and selection of fine foods. The Head Chef, Jeff Cadden, is a master of all things unpretentious, wholesome and home cooked and enjoys utilising local produce from the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire. He is also a firm believer in value for money, so you can enjoy lunch or dinner in superb surroundings for a competitive price.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

15 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 5 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years are charged GBP 10.00 per night and person for cots.  All older children or adults are charged GBP 15.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
