Area information Trek the Western Way and enjoy local walking tours. We have maps available at reception. Play golf at one of our nearby courses, including a championship links course. Take a bicycle tour of the local area, explore all the lanes and discover out of the way beaches and unspoilt scenery. Visit the nearby Connemara National Park. Enjoy our miles of clean sandy beaches and clear blue sea. Visit local historic sites, take a boat out to MacDara's Island to visit Irelands last surviving Island Oratory, or enjoy the splendour and serenity of Kylemore Abbey. Visit the local boatbuilding yards, the creators and builders of the unique and historical Galway Hooker. We are just a 40-minute drive to the Aran Islands ferry, and a similar distance from Cleggan and the Inishboffin ferry. We have free fishing available to our residents on the beautiful Loch Scannive for wild trout. Travel information International flights fly direct to Dublin or Shannon, then local flights, train or coach, or hire car from Dublin to Galway, or coach or hire car from Shannon to Galway. If arriving on a ferry allow 6 hours for the drive from Cork, Rosslare, or Dublin, 5 hours from Belfast.
