The historical city centre is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Beaune is a lovely city with many cobbled streets, covered markets, townhouses and ramparts. The Hôtel-Dieu in Beaune (Hospices de Beaune) is one of the finest examples of French fifteenth-century gothic architecture and the most popular jewel of Burgundy with its courtyard and its multicoloured roof tiles. The Hôtel-Dieu was built in the middle-age as a hospital for the poor and needy. Under the cobblestones of Beaune you will find many caves built a few centuries ago, which now shelter great wines. Some caves are even open to the public for a visit and wine tasting session. Close to the hotel you will find the Bouzaize Park with its many trees, water feature, merry-go-round, playing area and small zoo; ideal for a relaxing stroll or a day out with the family. Other tourist activities in Beaune include: the Square des Lions, the wine museum, the Art museum or the Basilique Notre Dame.
