Area information Baunatal is a young, modern city with approx. 25.000 inhabitants. It is situated in the North-Hessian highland and borders directly on Kassel, the metropolis of Noth-Hessian. Within a radius of 10 to 15 km you can visit "Hercules" (Kassel's landmark, 12km), the castle "Wilhelmshöhe" (picture gallery with the old masters, 12km), the "Fredericaneum" (documenta museum, 12km), the state theatre, the new UFA-cinema, the museum for seprualculture, the orangery and many further sights.
