Old Mill Hotel & Lodge

The Old Mill is located on a site that housed a flour mill until 1907. 'Bath's most beautifully located hotel, valued throughout, by the River Avon with lovely gardens & stunning views over the countryside'. The banqueting rooms, highly regarded, restaurant and bars have stunning views of the River Avon and the beautiful countryside surrounding it. Since then it has been developed into an attractive hotel with lovely bedrooms, and above all, all en suite, banqueting suites and a delightful restaurant by the river with a unique waterwheel feature. The current owners, very much appreciated, two very experienced hoteliers and restaurateurs acquired The Old Mill in April 1998. The picture is completed by the pretty hotel gardens, valued throughout, alongside the river, which is popular with rowers, boating enthusiasts and for fishing holidays. Please note that Old Mill Hotel & Lodge has no lift. Since then they have completed an extensive refurbishment programme, and above all, resulting in all bedrooms, banqueting rooms and the restaurant and bar, being totally redecorated and refurbished.

The Waterwheel Restaurant is surrounded by sliding glass windows leading out onto the lovely gardens. The gardens have picturesque views of the river and the surrounding countryside and are beautifully illuminated in the evening. The restaurant takes its name from the unique working waterwheel, which is another attractive feature. However, the most important aspect of any restaurant is the quality of the food and the service, and we are justifiably proud of both in the waterwheel. Our menu is based on the principles of using quality raw materials, freshly cooked and attractively presented. There is a wide selection of dishes to choose from, including fresh fish, grills, vegetarian items and dishes with a Mediterranean influence. In addition to the extensive à la carte menu, there is also a 3-course fixed price menu, offering plenty of choice. These fixed price menus offer exceptional value for money, as do the individually priced dishes on the à la carte menu. In addition to dinner being served every evening of the week, the Waterwheel Restaurant is open for lunch on Sunday, when a special 3-course fixed price menu is available, offering plenty of options for each course, including a choice of 3 different roasts. Children no older than 12 years old receive a discount on the fixed price of this menu. The Waterwheel Restaurant is entirely non-smoking throughout.

Travel information From m4, leave at junction 18, follow a46 into Bath (for 8 miles), Once on the dual carriage way stay in left hand lane, this will bring you to a roundabout where you turn left, sign posted for Batheaston, Half a mile along this road you will see a pub on the right called the waggon and horses. Turn right after pub, sign posted Bathampton tollbridge. Follow down the hill we are at the bottom on the left. From A36, Once on the outskirts of Bath you will see a sign saying Bathampton. Turn right after sign, sign posted to Bathampton village, this is Down lane. Follow to the bottom and turn right. Follow through village (past the pub & the church) until you come to the tollbridge, we are just on the other side. From the City Centre, Follow the signs for the M4 out of the city. The road to follow is the london road. Once at a large roundabout (where the M4 is the first exit (left) off of the roundabout), go straight over taking the second exit which is sign posted for Batheaston. Half a mile along this road on the right you will see a pub called the waggon and horses, Take the right hand turn after the pub; sign posted Bathampton tollbridge. We are on the left, just before the tollbridge.
