Rooms

The Hotel has 14 Cosy Rooms and 1 Self Contained Apartment. All but one of the rooms has views of the surrounding Fells, gardens or lake; with 8 rooms enjoying lovely frontal lake views. There are 3 Double Rooms which share 2 bathrooms, situated across the landing (bathrobes are provided in these rooms). These rooms share a balcony with a frontal lake view. All rooms have hairdryers and irons available on request.

The Hotel offers first class, freshly prepared local food, combined with welcoming hospitality and cosy, comfortable accommodation in this friendly family run non-smoking hotel. Come and relax beside one of the roaring log fires and soak up the views and tranquillity. A Lakeside setting with stunning scenery in this quiet and secluded valley of the Golden Eagle. Ideally situated for a relaxing "away from it all" break, walking holiday or a central base for the rest of the Lakes, just 19 km (12 miles) from the M6.

Food & Beverages

The dining room at the Haweswater Hotel seats around thirty-five. It has panoramic views of the lake, fells and garden. On the dark evenings, the tables are candlelit. The dinner menu is changed daily and prepared with care and imagination using fresh local produce. Please phone in advance to reserve your table for the night of your arrival. Individual diets catered for. Please mention at the time of booking.

On public holidays and Valentine’s breaks, the hotel only operates on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. Dinner is charged at an additional cost to the room rate and reduced packages are available. Anyone found to be or believed to be smoking will have their reservation cancelled, without refund, and will be charged GBP 50 laundry and cleaning costs. Doors close at 23:00 each night. The hotel’s reception does not operate on a 24-hour basis. Vegetarians and those with special dietary needs and allergies can be accommodated by prior request. Please contact the hotel in advance in order to inform them of your requirements, either by using the comments field when making your reservation or by contacting the hotel directly, using the contact details supplied on your confirmation email. Special diets can only be catered for providing they are mentioned at the time of booking.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, a fixed amount of GBP 40.00 will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

A fixed amount of GBP 40 per room will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

VAT is included.  Service charge is included.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

Children cannot be accommodated at the hotel.  There is no capacity for extra beds/cots in the room.
