The Leidseplein is a major square in central Amsterdam, in the south-west of the central (canal) district, immediately north-east of the Singelgracht canal.
One of the busiest centres for nightlife in the city, and very popular with tourists and locals alike, the square and the surrounding streets are full of bars, restaurants, outdoor cafes, coffeeshops, theatres, dance clubs, and more.
All of the main shopping streets, Paradiso (a legendary music venue that hosted the Rolling Stones, among many others), Dam Square, the Flower Market, the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, Vondel Park (Amsterdam’s largest park), among many other attractions, are just a leisurely stroll away.
