Area information The hotel is situated in the Plantage district. It was originally built in the 17th century as a garden. Nowadays the city’s zoo, Artis, is located there. Just around the corner of the hotel you can find the Resistance Museum (Plantage Kerklaan 61) which displays a variety of different exhibitions about the resistance movement in the Great War and Second World War. From the hotel the city of Amsterdam can be easily reached by tram or on foot. There are also many attractions close to the hotel. These include the Rembrandtplein, the Stopera (The City Hall), Carré (main theatre), the Maritime Museum, Dam Square, the Waterlooplein and its famous flea market and the University of Amsterdam. The Red Light district and its many bars are also within walking distance. Travel information From Amsterdam Schiphol Airport: By Taxi: - You can take a taxi directly to the hotel By Train: - You can take a train to Amsterdam Central Station. Travel time is about 19 minutes. By Shuttle bus: - You can also take the Connexxion Shuttle Bus. - Get off at the Rembrandt Hotel in the Plantage Middenlaan. - At the end of the street turn right into the Plantage Parklaan. From Amsterdam Central Station: - Take tram number 9. - Get off at the Artis-Plantage Kerklaan stop and walk back to the previous corner, the Plantage Parklaan. The total journey time from the airport to the hotel is approximately 40 minutes. By car: - Take the Amsterdam ring road in toward Zaandam. - Exit S116 (Volendam-Noord-Centrum) toward Centrum through the IJ-tunnel. - Take the first exit on the left. - Follow the street and at the tram rails head to the right. - After 50 metres look across the street for Plantage Parklaan.
